San Francisco Tour Guide

I really love showing off my city to people who come visit! And even though I like to stay away from most touristy locations on a regular basis, I still love to show people what makes San Francisco unique! Below I’ve compiled some of the main sites I take people to when they come to town.

I usually like to start my tour guide adventure on Lombard Street. Mainly because it’s right by my house, but also because the climb up the hill is well worth the view of Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge! If you walk a little further you’ll be able to climb up to Coit Tower for another great view of the city.

After Lombard street I’ll usually take my visitors down to Fisherman’s Wharf for a bowl of clam chowder, calamari or some fresh crab!

Right on the opposite side of Fisherman’s Wharf is Pier 39 full of tons of shops and restaurants. My favorite part is watching the sea lions (these never get old) and getting pics in front of the view of Alcatraz.

Another great spot on the water with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge is Ghirardelli Square. It’s always fun to stop in the Buena Vista for a famous Irish Coffee, take a walk along the Aquatic Park Pier, grab a piece of chocolate at Ghirardelli and stop at some of the street stalls.

Sometimes I’ll take visitors to Chinatown for some yummy lunch and a quick jaunt over to Union Square for some shopping. You can take the cable car to both destinations!

If there’s a game playing there’s nothing better than going to AT&T Park/Giants Stadium. You can’t beat the view or the garlic fries. Even seats in the nose bleeds are great!

The tour is never complete without a trip to the Palace of Fine Arts and the Ferry Building for some Cowgirl Creamery cheese and Blue Bottle Coffee.

Last but not least, if  I get the chance to take my visitors across the GG bridge I always try and stop at the Marin Headlands lookout for an amazing view of the entire bridge, ocean, bay and city!
