I cannot believe it’s finally here. I’ve been waiting for this moment for SO so long and I’m finally The Traveling Spud. Why the name you ask? I’ll get to that in a sec. But, first a shout out to my friend Carly for telling me to make this blog and for helping me create it.

Okay so let’s go WAY back when it all started in a smallish Idaho town called Twin Falls. I traveled quite a bit growing up, but not anything extreme. A lot of our weekends were spent going to the lake in McCall, ID , going to our farm in Castleford, heading out to NYC or San Francisco, or taking the occasional trip to Mexico. Then when I decided to study abroad in London my sophomore year of college I literally went berserk (is that still a word?) and the travel bug hit me straight in the face. I knew after I graduated I had to move to a big city where I could get a job that allowed me to travel. So, I did just that and here I am in San Francisco, CA obsessing over how cool this city is every day.

I currently work for a tech startup (who doesn’t here in SF?) and have managed a bunch of events in the US which have allowed me to travel to a lot of the major cities and some non-major cities. Lately, though, my travel bug has been so strong that I decided to plan an around the world trip for an entire year. When this is happening is all based on the money I can save and when the best timing will be, but i’m going to be talking a lot more about this in the blog days ahead as I’m planning and scheming the best way to go about it. So stick around for that!

My blogs main focus is going to be me traveling around the world with a little lifestyle peppered in on the side. First of all it will be for me to remember the cool things I’ve done, second, to share with family and friends and third to share tips and tricks from my excursions with anyone who cares to know.

Thanks for joining me on my journey!
