Last week I got invited to an amazing event hosted by Travel Alberta at the cooking class at Cavallo Point!

This was my first time to Cavallo Point and when I walked into the cooking class I felt like I was on the set of a Martha Stewart episode. The decor, kitchen set up, and flower arrangements all reminded me of a cozy and lively Thanksgiving dinner.  I was in heaven!

Cavallo Point is also one of the more luxurious resorts in the Bay Area and it was exciting for me to get a glimpse of the cooking school kitchen. Plus, the views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the property were breathtaking.

We made albacore confit, an amazing mustard green salad, duck confit and a cranberry tart. We also had a sommelier from the Martinez winery serving different wines with each course. All of the ingredients for the dishes were locally sourced from a farm and the farmer joined us in the creation of the meal. It was so fun!

I also learned a lot about how amazing Alberta, Canada is! I’ve seen a lot of bloggers and instagrammers traveling lately to Lake Louise and Banff and all of the pictures are incredible. The motto of Travel Alberta is “Remember to Breathe” which struck home with me since I grew up surrounded by mountains in Idaho. After watching the footage of Alberta it made me longing for a trip to Canada!
