Hey all! It’s time for my September Bay Area Foodie Recap.
I’m keeping these lists for my own personal reference, but hoping they’ll help if you’re looking for new places to eat and drink in San Francisco! If you missed August, here it is.
Brunch:
1. Pink Elephant (SOMA)
If you want a party brunch, go here! They have bottomless mimosas for $22 and offer any kind of flavored mimosa you could ever want. You walk up to the bar, mix your flavors, and pour your own. This place turns into a serious party so bring your party pants. My favorite mimosa was the one I mixed jalapeno and watermelon together!
2. The Tipsy Pig (Marina)
If you’ve ever been to the Marina in SF, this place is about as Marina as you can get. Sit on the back patio for brunch and order strawberry fields. DELISH.
Lunch:
3. Boo Koo (Marin)
AHHHMAZING Vietnamese restaurant in Mill Valley. I never knew it existed until a few weeks ago. I got the BÁNH MÌ sandwich which was great. The place had a cool vibe and all of the dishes my colleagues ordered looked yummy.
4. The Plant (Marina)
The Plant Burger is bomb. Especially the California or the Wasabi burger. They also have a great avocado and grapefruit salad!
Wine/Cocktails/Juice/Coffee:
5. Chambers (Tenderloin)
Located inside the Phoenix Hotel is this awesome bar and restaurant. They have the huge sign that says “Be Amazing” in the back which I’ve seen in countless Instagram pics. I still have yet to try their brunch and take a dip in the pool after, but it’s on the list!
6. Sugar Lounge (Hayes Valley)
This is a fun little bar tucked away in Hayes Valley. They always have some kind of free food. One time they served free hot dogs and last time I went they had chips and salsa.
7. The PourHouse (Lower Polk)
I didn’t even know this place existed until this month. It wasn’t the coolest place I’ve ever been, but it was a casual wine bar and would be good for a date night.
8. Zeitgeist (Mission)
One of the best outside patios in SF. Located in the Mission, very grunge, great burgers and everyone is smoking weed or drinking beer.
9. Equator Coffee (Marin)
Awesome little surfer coffee shop located in Mill Valley. Great stop before a day of stand up paddle boarding or hiking in Marin.
10. Pressed Juicery (Marina)
Their juices are my favorite in the whole city. Try Roots #3.
Dinner:
11. Tacolicious (North Beach)
This opened up after their flagship on Chestnut in the Marina. I like the vibe in this one, plus it’s less crowded! Order any of the tacos and the Margarita Picante!
12. Burritt Tavern (Union Square)
Located in the Mystic Hotel across from the Stockton Street garage. Great speakeasy vibe with strong cocktails and delish food.
13. Anchor & Hope (SOMA)
Fancier seafood restaurant in SOMA. The oysters, mussels, bruschetta and lobster roll were all incredible. Make sure to make a reservation.
14. Reverb Kitchen + Bar (Russian Hill)
I’ve walked by this place a million times and the name and restaurant has changed a lot over the last few years. Apparently it’s great for brunch, but I went for dinner and had the burger with egg. It was amazing!!
