Fall in Idaho is literally my favorite season everrrr! The crisp mornings, changing leaves, pumpkin spice lattes (!!), and weekends spent wandering through corn mazes or searching for the perfect pumpkin.

After living in Boise for more than a decade (and growing up in Idaho), I’ve learned that one of the best ways to celebrate the season is by visiting one of the many incredible pumpkin patches around the Treasure Valley. Whether you’re planning a family outing with little kids, looking for the biggest corn maze, or hoping to snap a few fall family photos, there’s a pumpkin patch for just about everyone.

Now that I have a daughter, I know these autumn traditions are only going to become even more special, and I’m excited to experience many of these farms through her eyes over the coming years. In this guide, I’m sharing my favorite pumpkin patches near Boise, along with what makes each one unique, who it’s best for, and a few local tips to help you plan your visit.

1 – Lowe Family Farmstead

If I could only recommend one pumpkin patch near Boise, Lowe Family Farmstead would probably be it.

This pumpkin patch (and so much more) has become one of Idaho’s most popular fall destinations, and for good reason. It’s WAY more than a pumpkin patch, it’s an entire day of family fun.

Kids can spend hours exploring the giant corn maze, visiting farm animals, going on a hayride, playing on the ropes course, racing down the potato sack slide, and climbing through dozens of interactive attractions spread throughout the farm. Of course, no visit is complete without wandering through the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin to take home. They have some really fun and unique ones, I love finding cool ones here every year.

One thing I love about Lowe is that there’s something to do for every age. Toddlers have plenty of smaller play areas, while older kids and even adults can tackle the massive corn maze or spend time exploring all of the attractions. There are also a lot of different food and drink options. It’s one of those places you can spend an entire afternoon.

Local Tip: Arrive right when they open if you’re visiting on a weekend. Parking fills up quickly, and you’ll beat both the crowds and the afternoon lines. I also recommend wearing comfortable shoes, there’s much more walking than people expect.

2 – Pumpkin Palooza (Best for Younger Kids)

If you’re looking for a fun fall outing without driving far from Boise, Pumpkin Palooza in Meridian is a great option. It’s also super affordable with tickets around $3 with attractions costing a bit more.

Pumpkin Palooza has more of a carnival atmosphere than a traditional pumpkin patch. You’ll find a Fun Zone with 6 different inflatables, a big slide, small wagon rides, carnival games, pumpkin pillow, hay mazes, corn pit, photo opportunities, food trucks on the weekends, and of course, plenty of pumpkins to choose from. It’s a fun place to spend a few hours, especially if you have younger kids who aren’t quite ready for a giant corn maze.

Since it’s located right in Meridian, it’s also one of the easiest pumpkin patches to fit into a busy weekend. You can easily pair it with lunch at The Village at Meridian or another Treasure Valley adventure.

Local Tip: If you’re traveling with little ones, this is one of the easiest pumpkin patches to navigate. It feels less overwhelming than some of the larger farms while still offering plenty of activities.

3 – Shindig Farms (Best for Older Kids & Teens)

If your family loves a little adventure, Shindig Farms is one of my favorite pumpkin patches near Boise.

Shindig Farms is located in Nampa and has become known for year-round seasonal events that include their Fall Straw Maze & Pumpkin Patch, Haunted Maze, Lost in Christmas, and Animal Days. In the fall, they have a giant straw maze, pumpkin patch with a wagon ride, tire wall, sunflower field (September), zip lines, giant slides, corn canon, jump pads, mechanical bull, and one of the area’s most popular haunted attractions later in the season. It strikes a great balance between classic fall fun during the day and spooky entertainment in the evenings for older kids and teens.

One thing I appreciate is that it still feels like a family farm while offering enough attractions to keep everyone entertained for several hours. If your kids have already “graduated” from the toddler stage, this is one of the places I’d recommend first.

4 – Jordan’s Pumpkin Patch (Best Budget-Friendly Pumpkin Patch)

If you’re looking for a more laid-back pumpkin patch that won’t break the budget, Jordan’s Pumpkin Patch is one of my favorite hidden gems in Boise. It’s located in Boise off of Cole Road and connected to Jordan’s Garden Center.

This family-friendly pumpkin patch focuses more on choosing the perfect pumpkin than spending an entire day on attractions. Kids can enjoy a hay maze, petting zoo, corn pit, toys, and fun photo opportunities, all while parents can check out an impressive selection of pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks, and other fall decor. One of the things local families love most is that many of the activities are free, making it one of the most affordable pumpkin patch experiences in the Treasure Valley.

It’s also a great option if you just want to pick out pumpkins without committing half a day to a larger fall festival.

Local Tip: This is my recommendation if you’re looking for a quick fall outing after school or before heading out to lunch. It has plenty of fall vibes without feeling like an all-day event.

5 – The Berry Ranch

If you’re looking for a classic Idaho farm experience, The Berry Ranch is a great choice. This is a family-run working farm where you can head out into the pumpkin field to pick your own pumpkin. You can do this either by walking to the patch or hopping on a hayride (depending on the day and option you choose). If you don’t want to go hunting in the field, you can also find plenty of pre-picked pumpkins available in the farm store. This is also a working farm, so you can also browse seasonal produce, local honey, meats, and other farm products.

The Berry Ranch is located in Nampa and has a much more laid-back atmosphere than some of the larger fall festivals. If you’re hoping for a quieter pumpkin patch that still delivers that classic fall feeling, this is one of my favorites.

6 – Cherry Hill Farms

If you’re looking for a more traditional farm experience, Cherry Hill Farms is one of my favorite pumpkin patches worth the drive from Boise. It’s located in Caldwell, and it’s less about huge attractions and more about enjoying a relaxing day on a working family farm.

In the fall, they have a Fall Festival and an 8-acre corn maze and a small hay bale maze for little ones. They also have a pumpkin patch, maze games, jumping pillow, barrel cart rides, tube slides, car track, farm animals, corn hole, cherry pit sandbox, and tractor tire playgrounds, seasonal treats, and fresh produce.

Tips for Visiting Pumpkin Patches Near Boise

A little planning can make your day much more enjoyable.

Bring cash just in case, although many farms now accept cards.
Idaho afternoons can still be warm in September, so bring water, sunscreen, and dress in layers.
